Redbulls Max Verstappen claimed his maiden Australian Grand prix on Sunday morning East Africa time.The two times world champion qualified yesterday in pole and was expected to go on and win the Grand Prix.
Max and Redbull has been nothing of incredible this season with the team dominate the Formula one for the better time and the win makes it Redbulls best ever start to a season.
Verstappen team mate Sergio Perez who was voted as driver of the day achieved to finish 5th having started at the bottom of the grid to make sure both cars were well within points for Redbull Racing team.
In what was a chaotic race gathering three different red flags including in the last lap of the race,it was a relief to see Lewis Hamilton get the chequered flag second.it is his first podium this year in what seems to be a turn around for Mercedes after a rough start to the season.The Seven times world Champion started as P3 alongside his team mate George Russel.The pair gave Red bull a run for their money as Russel took lead of the race immediately after lights out with Hamilton closing in to lock Verstappen out to third.
Verstappen would take the lead from Hamilton in the 12th lap having acquired hard tires .Unfortunately for George Russel he would call it quit after his car failed and blew up into flames.
Fenarndo Alonso who took P3 had a brilliant run all through the race and was glad this time he did not suffer any penalties to deny him of the podium position ahead of his team mate Lance Stroll.
Things went from bad to worse for Ferrari as Star driver Charles Leclerc received his 3rd DNF of the season after his car failed in the first lap of the race.
His team mate Carol Sainz finish 12th after getting a five seconds penalty.
