Chelsea Football club woes continued on Saturday evening despite the arrival of a new manager in Frank Lampard.Chelsea were hosted by Wolves at the Molineux Stadium and were hoping to turn around their fortunes after the dismissal of Graham Potter.
Chelsea however faced the same fate they have been facing in the recent past by losing to Wolves by a goal to nothing courtesy of Matheus Nunes strike in the 31st minute.
The arrival of club legend Frank Lampard who was let go eighteen months ago was supposed to spark immediate reaction but failed misserably.Chelsea are position eleven with just 39 points to their name.
The Premier League battle is heating up after every match day and Chelsea are slowly losing ground with the gap from 12th placed Wolves having reduced to just seven points. There are eight teams currently battling to avoid relagation and Chelsea will be hoping things turn around sooner than later.
Chelsea have scored a dissapointing 29 goals in 30 premier league outings despite spending over 600 million euros in January only.
Meanwhile the battle for Champions league spots continue to be tight with Manchester United and Newcastle United both claiming wins.The two teams are locked with 56 points with Newcastle ahead only on goal difference.
Fifth placed Tottenham also claimed a win to put pressure on Manchester United.
Brighton and Brentford are still comfortable at the middle of the table despite losing today.Eighth placed Liverpool will face league leaders Arsenal in search for normalcy.
Arsenal are eight points ahead of Manchester city and will be hoping that gap widens in oder to protect their bid of winning the pre.ier league.
With eight games to go teams will be doing everything possible to improve their status but as it is at the moment,there is still work to do.
