Kithure Kindiki Hints On Implementing Policy Demanding Officers To Shift Stations After Three Years

 

  • Interior Cabinet Secretary Professor Kithure Kindiki has hinted of flagging a policy that will see police officers shift their work stations after a period of three years.
  • He said the policy would effect on all officers despite of their ranks. 
  • Kindiki also said his ministry is working on opening two new security roads in Baringo.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has said that no police officer who has served in a police station shall stay there for over three years.

Speaking on Wednesday, Kindiki said the policy will be implemented across the country.

The policy of the government which we are going to apply in every police station or police post. No officer of whatever rank who has served more than three years will remain there, we are going to do it across the country. If you have served in a police station for three years, it is time to go,” he said.

Speaking when he appeared before MPs in Parliament, Kindiki said the Interior ministry approved an additional 200 National Police Reservists— 100 for Baringo South and 100 for Baringo North.

“Training of the NPRs will commence before Friday, I have provided the money for their training immediately,” he said

He said NPRs have been deployed in the Baringo area to support the Rift Valley multi-agency security team.

Kindiki also said his ministry is working on opening two new security roads in Baringo.

We are moving equipment, we are looking forward to the discussion on two major roads that will take care of Arabal Hills and into the Laikipia Nature Conservancy,” he said.

 

He is the first CS to appear before plenary to answer questions raised by lawmakers.
