Kiambu County Governor Kimani Wamatangi’s administration has suffered yet another blow after county executive committee member for education Biabiane Waiganjo resigned.
Waiganjo is said to have cited harsh, oppressive and suppressive working conditions as the reason for exiting the county executive.
Waiganjo tendered her resignation on Monday barely two months after she was sworn into office.
Eight months since Wamatangi took over office has seen County chief of staff Gibson Mburu resign followed by County executive committee member in charge of roads Samuel Mugo.
The county secretary Martin Njogu also resigned followed as well as Chief Officer for roads Daniel Njenga.
According to MCA Karuri Peter Wainaina said that there is a problem with the executive since top executive members have been resigning in masses.
“Kiambu people should know that there is a problem inside the Kiambu government executive since the executive members are resigning at a worrying rate hence hampering service delivery,’ Wainaina said in a video released yesterday that showed the discounted officials addressing the media.
Wainaina said as an assembly, they will not allow service delivery to be at stake and that is why they will oversight and remove also those who are not working for the benefit of the Kiambu people.
We have no problem with the governor as we have planned many times to talk to him over the ongoings of the county affairs but he has refused. I urge him that gives the assembly respect they deserve and also to be calling MCAs for dialogue and he listens to them. He cannot work in isolation,” Wainaina said
Githiga ward MCA Ruth Waithera claimed that the governor has been operating as a one-man show and should work with MCAs so as to deliver development for Kiambu people
