Manchester United visited Spain for the second leg of the Europa Champions League against Sevilla hoping to advance to the next stage.
The aggregate score before the Thursday 10.00 Pm kick off between the two teams was 2-2 after the first leg which was played at Old Trafford seven days ago.
Sevilla took the bull by its horns earlier in the first half when En-Nesyri capitalised to a Harry Maguire and goalkeeper David de Gea miscommunication error in the eighth minute.
Manchester United were without stand in captain Bruno Fernades who was was not eligible for this match having received a second yellow card in the first leg clash. Fernades creative qualities lacked any one from United to emulate as they missed the cutting edge in the final third.
Sevilla dominated most of the first half winning possesion back as soon as they lost it and applying pressure while off possession to make sure United had no scrapes to feed on.
Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw were introduced at the start of the second half to provide much needed attacking prowes for Manchester United but Sevilla would only beneffit by scoring a second goal two minutes into the second half to make it 4-2 on aggregate.
Sevilla has won the Europa Champions league a staggering six times and despite their domestic struggles in the La liga this season their dominance in the competition was again evident on Thursday night.
Rafael Varane and Lissandro Martinez both picked up injuires in the first leg of the competition against Sevilla which left a huge dent at the back for Manchester united .The depth of the dent was explored even further after a huge mistake by David de Gea in the 81st minute.Morrocan forward En-Nesyri was there to capitalise and score his second goal of the night and knocking out Manchester United 5-2 on aggregate.
United next fixture is the FA cup semi final on sunday where they will lack the services of Harry Maguire due a suspension as well as the injured duo of Varane and Martinez.
