Content creator and Former Real Housewives of Kawangware actress, Star Chebet had disclosed the profound challenges she has faced in recent years, including mental health frustrations after her mother died of acute kidney failure.
Chebet, who is celebrated for her humor-laden content, after relinquishing as an actor in the premier Television show, decided to shed light on her personal battles in an effort to raise awareness and combat body shaming.
She talked about her mother’s acute kidney injury, which she revealed had gone unnoticed until it was too late.
Her mother’s anguish had been compounded by a series of hospital visits that left her dismissed as a minor illness case in certain medical facilities, allowing the illness to exacerbate to a chronic level.
The content creator’s journey was marked by a heartbreaking loss, as she shared that her mother, her sole parent, had succumbed to the illness in 2022.
During the period between 2010 and 2022, her mother had foreseen her own passing, and this seemingly inevitable tragedy had weighed heavily on her because her mother constantly spoke of her death, signaling that she would not be well.
The continuous hospital visits had taken a toll on her mother, and the burden had ultimately become too much to bear.
However, the story took an even more distressing turn after her mother’s passing. Chebet’s mental health deteriorated rapidly, with her experiencing profound emotional upheaval, notably in March of the current year.
This had prompted a visit to a mental hospital, where she was prescribed medication to stabilize her mood.
Yet, these medications had come with their own set of challenges, as Chebet shared that they had the potential to significantly affect her physical well-being.
These side effects had included weight gain, constipation, and increased hunger, among others.
In the midst of these tribulations, Chebet had remained resolute in her mission to inspire and shift perceptions, particularly regarding body shaming.
For instance, on the video she shared on TikTok, she emphasized that individuals often remain oblivious to the deep struggles others may be enduring and urged people to reconsider their judgment of those facing physical and mental health issues.
