Willis Raburu has announced his stepping down as the chair man of the Nairobi Festival Committee.
In a report released on Monday, Willis explained that the need for a systematic change as one of the reasons that led to his quiting.
“I have officially informed the leadership of Nairobi county that I will no longer serve in the current capacity as the chair man of the Nairobi Festival Committee,” Raburu stated.
“It is clear that to better serve the county and it’s residents, then a more better comprehensive look at existing systems is important, which to be fair have already been placed and I wish them the best in this regard,” Raburu continued.
Raburu noted that his belief that with the correct structural changes and a collective commitment in pushing the need for a systematic change, can change the direction of the future of the county.
The former Citizen TV host went on to thank Governor Johnson Sakaja for giving him the opportunity to serve the community and wished him luck as he leads the county.
“I remain dedicated to supporting the county from a different angle of view and will continue to work towards bettering the status of the community.”
Governor Sakaja unveiled the Nairobi Festival at Uhuru Park in December 2022.
