King Charles Philip and Queen Camilla Rosemary of the United Kingdom have made their first visit to Kenya.
They arrived in the country late Monday night at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport ahead of their appointed four day visit in the country.
They were received by Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi and British High Commissioner to Kenya, Neil Wigan.
King Charles and Queen Camila are expected at the statehouse later on to have a meeting with president William Ruto.
The agenda of their visit include celebrating the warm relationship between the two nations and the strong dynamic partnership they continue having.
Plus, their intended visit to Mombasa county at the historic Mandhry Mosque in Mombasa’s old town in which they are expected to hold a meeting at the mosque with Muslim leaders on Friday.
Kenyan happens to be a former colony of the Commonwealth nation and King Charles is visiting first since he ascended the throne.
Upon the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth at age 96 in September 2022, Charles immediately ascended to the throne, per the British line of succession.
The King and Queen will also visit Nairobi, Mombasa counties and other parts of the nation.
