Kenya 7s Rugby team,Shujaa 7s will try and reclaim their fortunes in vancouver this weekend.
The Kenyan side had a dissapointing outing last weekend in Los Angeles . Kenya were hopeful of making it to the quarters after edging out Australia in the opening match 12-7.
The win was not enough to propel them out of the group as they lost 19-5 to Fiji and a surprise 7-5 defeat to minnows Japan to drop to the classification matches.
Kenya currently sit 13th in the series with just 22 points to their name.
In Vancouver the team will open the Charges against rugby powerhouse Fiji on friday at 10:52 EAT.
Fiji has won the last three matches against Kenya with Kenya coming close to upset the Pacific Islanders in December in a thrilling 21-17 loss.
Kenyas next encounter will be on Saturday 4:54 AM when they take on Great Britain.The two teams last meeting was in Dubai sevens which ended as a 14-14 stalemate.
The third match of the pool will be at 11:20 PM when Kenya takes on Uruguay. Both teams have met twice this season with each team winning once.
Shujaa headcoach Darmain McGraith has said that his team has evaluated the areas that went wrong in Los Angeles and will be hoping to build on that this weekend.
“We have addressed some of the issues that affected us in Los Angeles and we hope we can put an impressive performance in Vancouver, “noted McGraith.
