Premier League match day 26 was one of a kind as top teams got to play almost concurrent on Saturday.It turned out to be an evening graced with football drama.
Manchester city against Newcastle was the first kick off of the evening.Newcastle having lost their form which has seen them drop out of the top four were welcome by Pep Guardiolla Citizens in what turned out to be an almost usual evening for Manchester City.England star Phil Foden however was the man to still the show when he dribbled past Newcastle defenders to slot a perfect solo goal.
Newcastle were guilty of poor finishes and Bernardo Silva would make them pay when he scored the winner for City.
Arsenal came next and in what was a thrilling match against Bournemouth. Arsenal found themselves behind just after nine seconds when Billing slotted home from Solanke’s cross.The league leaders would then find find it hard to penetrate the visitors defence despite having majority of the possession. After the halftime break Arsenal seemed like a team focused to get themselves back into the game with the introduction of Ben White.Arsenal would find themselves with a mountain to climb when Bournemouth Senesi slotted home the second almost at the hour mark.
Arsenal however would not give up and just 4 minutes later after Senesi second goal,Thomas Party pulled one back assisted by Emily Smith Rowe.Arsenals right back Ben White would repay his managers faith and slot in the equaliser just eight minutes later.
Both teams looked threaten after that with Arsenal having a penalty overturned.It was however Reiss Nelson who won the match for Arsenal seven minutes into injury time.The win against Bournemouth becomes Arsenal first win after trailing by two goals since 2012.
Chelsea also managed a win against Leeds which becomes the first in 15 matches.The win was another narrow win for Chelsea which has not scored more than one goal in a match since January despite spending heavily during the transfer window.It also came at a time when supporters are calling for the sacking of manager Graham Potter due to poor performances in the recent past.
Tottenham also slipped away at wolves loosing grips on third placed Manchester United even further. Adama Traore effort was enough to see Wolves over the line.Elsewhere Brighton thrashed David Moyes Westham in four goals to nill in what was a sublime display for the seagulls.
