The actions associated with me do not align with my values or commitment to public service. I unequivocally condemn any behavior against principles of integrity. I am thoroughly investigating these allegations and will take decisive actions to rectify any wrongdoing,”

Cabinet Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, Ababu Namwamba, has responded to a viral video that implicates him in a confrontation at Port Victoria hospital in Busia County.

The undated video captures an unidentified woman and man harassing hospital staff, accusing them of neglecting a patient.

In the footage, the woman, causing chaos by throwing files and objects, claims she will call Ababu to address the alleged negligence.

Following the video’s circulation, both individuals have been linked to CS Namwamba, a native of Busia County.

Taking to social media on Thursday, Namwamba addressed the public, stating, “The actions associated with me do not align with my values or commitment to public service.”

He unequivocally condemned any behavior against principles of integrity and pledged to thoroughly investigate the allegations, promising decisive actions to rectify any wrongdoing.

CS Namwamba emphasized his dedication to “rebuilding trust through transparency and corrective measures.”

However, the incident has triggered public uproar and condemnation, with Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Davji Atellah calling for legal action against the perpetrators.

“This is rudimentary, illegal, and immoral,” Atellah declared. He stressed the need to curtail the actions of politicians and their associates threatening healthcare workers, emphasizing the urgent need to bring those responsible for the confrontation to justice.
