Arsenal football club has had a stellar campaign this season proving to be a force to reckon with.They currently sit at the top of the premier league and their hard work is there for all to see as they continue to reap rewards from far and wide.Such rewards were the London Football Awards which are held once every year.
Arsenal came out on top in four major categories amid strong competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspurs and other London based teams.
Martin Odergaard was named Premier league player of the year
Martin Odergaard was named as the Premier League Player of the year edging out competition from his team mate Bukayo Saka as well as sensational foward and England Captain Harry Kane.Other nominees in that category were Brentfords Ivan Toney and Fulhams forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Bukayo Saka later won the London Men Young Player of the year.Its the second time he scoops that award after winning it in 2021.
Arsenal shot stopper Aaron Ramsdale walked away with the award for Goalkeeper of the season due to his impecable saves this season.
With Arsenal scooping everything, the Manager would also take home Manager of the season to crown the night for the Gunners.
Apart from the award scooped by Arsenal,there were other numerous categories like The Goal of The Season Award which was won by Tottenham Hotspurs forward Son Heung Min for his strike against Leicester City on September 17th,2022.
English Player of the Year was won by Paul Smyth of Leyton Orient.
Sam Kerr and Lauren James were also awarded in the women Category
Sam Kerr of Chelsea Womens football Club won the FA Women Superleague Player of the year with her team mate and sister to Chelsea Right Back,Lauren James winning the Young Player of the year in the women category.
There was a new category added to the event which is the Power of Football Award.It was won by the Lionesses, that is The England women Football team for winning the EUROs in 2022.
Away from the pitch were award to recognize efforts made by football teams.Such was the Community Project Award which was won by Brentford Fc Community Sports Trust for tackling discrimination through the power of football.
