The tumultuous ordeal unfolded following the viral success of one of her videos, set to Femi One’s “Utawezana” song, propelling her into an unexpected and overwhelming wave of fame.

Living alone on the fourth floor at the time, Nasenya found herself caught off guard by the sudden surge of attention and negative feedback.

Despite having experienced viral fame on TikTok before, this particular instance took a dark turn, exposing her to severe cyberbullying and pushing her to the brink. In a vulnerable moment, she contemplated suicide from her apartment balcony.

Reflecting on the swift shift from love and appreciation to intense cyberbullying, Nasenya expressed disbelief that her passion for creating dance videos had led to such vehement negativity and distress.

“I thought about it because I’m like I’m just a teenager. I was just doing what I love doing for the past one year, what do you mean someone is mad because I danced? I did not hurt anyone; I was just having fun, so that was my lowest moment,” she recounted.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of her support system, Nasenya credited her team, friends, and management for being her pillars during this challenging period.

It was different; people knew me so it escalated. People were sharing it, and I was like okay cool nice. So it was all love and then before you know it, boom. It changed, and I’m like okay what is happening?”. She narrated.

Their unwavering presence and immediate intervention provided her with the strength to navigate through the tumultuous times.

Emphasizing the need for compassion and understanding, Nasenya highlighted the damaging impact of online hate and stressed the importance of supporting individuals faced with sudden, overwhelming attention.

“I, literally went to my balcony and I was like um is this where God you let me go,” she shared about a decision she was ready to make, underscoring the critical importance of addressing mental health challenges in the face of online scrutiny.
