William Ruto’s Cabinet Reshuffle: Cabinet Secretaries Hand Over Dockets After Ministries Head Change.
A week after President Ruto made changes in his cabinet, the displaced Ministers handed over the offices to their colleagues.
The Minister of Public Service, Moses Kuria, handed over the responsibilities of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to Rebecca Miano, while Miano replaced Penina Malonza in the Ministry of East African Community and arid areas.
Alfred Mutua has been received by the Ministry of Tourism by Penina Malonza who will now deal with the issues of the East African community and arid areas.
CS Miano has said that she has left the Ministry of East Africa and Arid Areas having achieved a lot to be proud of.
“So far we had quite a lot of achievements within the period, but of Key to note is the KICC that we have managed to rehabilitate after 50 years, our plan was to renovate the entire building,” Said Miano.
Minister Alfred Mutua Although his transfer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been seen as a demotion, he has said that he has accepted the change with open arms and is ready to work.
“I want to say that I am excited to be here, I am quite happy and I told President Ruto that these are among the best things he has ever done for me and I am quite excited,” Said Mutua.
Mutua has announced the start of a series of meetings with stakeholders in the tourism sector to improve and restore the status of the ministry.
“My aim is to reengineer these Ministry to be a key employer in various sectors and we will work together with everybody on how to create jobs everywhere in this country for young men and women.” Said Mutua.
In the offices of the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Minister of Public Service Moses Kuria handed over the docket to Minister Rebecca Miano to take the helm in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister Rebecca Miano until last week was holding the Ministry of East African Community and Arid Areas.
Moses Kuria expressed satisfaction of work done for the last 11 months. He said he takes pride in the achievements which include launching of industrial parks in counties which he said will be a fruit in the next 18 months.
“It has been a marathon of 11 months alot has been done, we had to build the sailing and the same time digging the foundation ,CS is coming in at a time when the foundation was almost complete and I have alot of confidence and trust that she will begin from there.”Said Kuria.
Cabinet secretary Miano affirmed that she will work to serve in her new docket to the best of her abilities to keep her mandate upto strength.
“The way I see Trade and Investment industries, it is a growth pillar of this Country, and therefore I will come in with the best foot forward , energy and managerial skills.”Said Miano.
The events have been held in the offices of different ministries.
