Staunch members of the New Life Prayer Centre have today congregated outside Shanzu Law Courts to pray for their arrested leader Pastor Ezekiel Odero.
Ezekiel Odero’s day in court
Ezekiel had been arrested in connection with the exhumed bodies found in Shakahola and is accused of burying his church members there.
The courts had denied hi bail and his followers are hoping that he will be released today, even as the man of God armed himself with powerful and renowned lawyers, Cliff Ombetta and Danstan Omari.
From the viral photos, members, majorly women can be seen in deep prayers, covering their pastor who will be arraigned in court later.
Ezekiel was arrested days after another preacher Paul Mackenzie was also arrested for allegedly burying bodies in his land.
As the government continues to exhume the bodies for investigations, more and more Kenyans are coming out to report cases of missing persons.
The photos of the congregants was shared on Nation’s Facebook page, attracting mixed reactions from Kenyans online.
One congregant, who did not want to be mentioned told burudaniafricanews.co.ke that the witch hunt on their man of God was unacceptable and an ill motive.
“We know him to be a true man of God. These things they are accusing him of are just the tests that a true believer gets persecuted on for serving the true God,” she said.

Pathologists kick off post-mortem
A week ago, burudaniafricanews.co.ke reported the investigation into the unsettling cult in Shakahola in Kilifi County reached it’s seventh day.
Government pathologists were scheduled to commence post-mortem examinations on Thursday even as detectives and pathologists were still combing through the Shakahola forest for more shallow graves.
