The fifth round of the FA cup kicked off on Tuesday evening in the absence of champions league football.
Results from the first day were rather mixed as top flight teams bowed out of the competition: Here are the actions:
LEICESTER CITY KNOCKED OUT
Leicester City welcomed second tier club, Blackburn Rovers, to the King Power stadium. Despite the fact that they were the better team on paper, Leicester found themselves chasing the game after strikes from Tyrhys Dolan and Sammie Szmodies put the visitors in a commanding position.
Kalechi Iheanacho would come off the bench to pull one back for the home side but the damage was already done as Blackburn travelled back with a place in the next round secure.
PHIL FODEN FOR MANCHESTER CITY
Phil Foden ensured that Manchester City provided another superb result due to his brace.
Bristol City was the victim of Pep Guardiola tactics despite the fact that they were in a 12 match unbeaten streak.
Foden opened the scoring within 7 minutes and would see his short deflected late on for goal number two. Kevin de Bruyne would later curl the ball into the net from 25 metres outs to seal the deal.
