The family of Daniel Mutembei a man from Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County who was killed 3 weeks ago is demanding justice.

The family claims that Mutembei was killed by people well-known to them.
They say no one has been arrested over the case since then, arguing that suspects have turned to threatening the family which is in course of seeking justice.
“Police said they will pursue the 5 suspects, but they have not been arrested 3 weeks later. They (police) have done nothing after showing me (their) photos,” Mutembei’s father said David Ngai.
“I want CS Kindiki to intervene and help me bury my son. We have nothing, all the money we had contributed has gone to waste.”

Chuka residents yesterday caused a traffic snarl- up from afternoon till evening after they barricaded Meru-Nairobi highway with the murdered Kin’s casket demanding justice.
The crowd attracted irate boda riders who again blocked the highway till late in the morning today.
The situation would worsen after Tharaka Nithi Bodaboda chair Person Willis Mugambi alias Kiraku was shot dead by police during the scuffles.
Heavy police presence is currently being witnessed in Chuka town, and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki says a team of investigators have been dispatched to the area.
At the home of the late Mutembei, a beehive of activities were seen on Sunday morning, with a freshly-dug grave lying empty.
“We had finalised burial plans and even prepared food. But after we picked his body, we were blocked from proceeding with the burial,” late Mutembei’s mother told Citizen Digital.
The family adds that they were assaulted during the Saturday fracas in Chuka town.
