The parliamentarian did an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve where he also said that parliament is looking to vet agents taking people overseas to work.

Jalang’o: No good jobs in Saudi Arabia

Jalas also shared that some women hardly tell people they are leaving for Saudi Arabia and only talk when things go bad for them in the foreign country.

“Kabla utoke Kenya jaribu kabisa ukuwe umajaribu kuexploit kila njia ndio uamue kutoka hapa. Hata kama hujawai enda job, immediately ukiwa kwa nchi nyingine si home kwenu, tayari you’re disadvantaged. Kupata kazi poa hutapata. Lazima ikue tu kazi ya kutumia nguvu,” he said.

The new parliamentary committee Diaspora Affairs and immigrant workers will look into ensuring agencies taking women to Middle Eastern countries are verified and that they can account for their clients.

Jalang’o also shared that people should only leave the country with registered agencies who be held responsible in case anything happens while working in the foreign country.

“Hizo agencies zote zitahave kuwa verified tujuwe ni nani anapeleka nani. Na ni lazima ukuje useme mimi kama Jalas agency nimepeleka huyu, hawa wako kwa mkono yangu. Unless hivyo license zao zitatolewa,” he added.
