Popular gospel musician Kambua Mathu has recalled how the loss of her son in February 2021, attracted heartbreaking comments including being called barren and how God helped her overcome the turmoil.
The heartbreaking story which was inspired by her new song Ametenda Zaidi, released late February, reminded her of how her joy was unexpectedly killed on the 14th of February 2021 when a bouncing baby boy she had delivered on the 12th the same month, died.
Kambua further described that February was a rather special month to her, which aside celebrating the breakthrough that had seen her heal from the trolls that said she was barren, had seen her successfully produce her new song, which greatly exemplified how faithful God had been to her.
“The month of February is also very special to me because on the twelve of February 2021, I had a very special boy that God gave to me and he went to be with the lord, and we laid him to rest on the fourteenth of February” she said.
However she confessed that while ordinarily the month would have been characterized by much grief and pain due to memories of her sons death, it surprisingly wasn’t, as the Lord had lifted her and helped her subdue the darkness.
“Ordinarily this month would be clouded with a lot of pain, brokenness and hopelessness but the Lord has lifted me from a very very dark place and is continuing to heal my heart”. She said on the post that appeared on her Instagram.
Now a mother of three including the deceased son, Kambua says that she looks back to the obscure days and beyond, and sees how far she has trudged including rising from ‘barrenness’ to being a proud mother.
