The Kenya Handball federation has today released the 2023 handball fixtures for this year national Super League to be played in Nyayo stadium.
The Kenya handball super league has six participants for the mens and four for the women teams. The teams that get to participate the Super league are normally the best six after the handball season comes to an end.
The tournament will take place from the 20th of May with the finals expected to take place on 28th May.The games will however be played over the weekends only meaning the teams get to have off days for preparations.
The men teams are into two pools of three teams while the women teams are in one single pool and will participate in a merry go round affair in order to find the winner. The men teams will have two games in the pools and the best two will gain a direct ticket to the semis.
Team Cereals who successfully defended their title this season will be in pool A but the task ahead is tough. Joining Cereals in pool A will be G.S.U who had a decent season also.The ever consistent Strathmore University will be the third team in pool A and will seek for a place in the semis.
Pool B will be as challenging as Pool A with former Champions Black Mamba leading the line but Kenya Defence Forces ,Ulinzi will try to prove a point. Kenyatta University is the third team in that pool and viewed as the under dogs but might pull an upset on either team.
The ladies pool consists of the record breaking champions,Nairobi Waters.Their closest challenger over the years Cereals will be there to provide the challenge. Ulinzi Sharks and Rangers are the other two teams in that category.
The first match will be Ulinzi vs Kenyatta Universty at 10 Oclock on Saturday the 21st.
