A Kenyan lady has left netizens stunned after she tore open her 2023 savings kit and unveiled whooping ksh 207,000 that she had saved throughout the year.
In a now viral video that was posted on Instagram, the lady is seen cutting open a metallic kit and parading wards of cash and coins that she had stashed away.
She clarified that the announced Ksh 207k was solely from the notes, not accounting for the substantial number of coins that could have tipped off the already large amount.
In the video, Carol, as she introduces herself, pointed out that people tend to avoid discussing savings discipline, but with the arrival of the new year, there’s no escaping the conversation.
She explained that she suffered from impulse buying disorder and it was not until one of her friends warned on how detrimental it could be for her in future, that she resorted to saving in a piggy bank. That was in 2022.
During that time, she recalled saving close to Ksh 150k and said that she had improved in the recently concluded year after saving Ksh 207k with coins excluded.
