As Kenya commemorates the 60th Jamhuri Day, Interior PS Raymond Omollo announced that this year’s celebration at Uhuru Gardens is set to be attended by 30,000 individuals.
The day, marking the handover of power from the British colonial government to Kenya on December 12, 1963, highlights the nation’s journey toward independence under the leadership of founding father Jomo Kenyatta.
In addition to the central celebration at Uhuru Gardens, Kenyans across various counties are engaging in parallel celebrations to honor the historic occasion. The widespread festivities reflect the unity and pride as the nation marks six decades of independence.
