- Police officer have extricated some 120 bags of government subsidized fertilizer at a store in Sipili, Laikipia county.
- The officers who responded promptly, were tipped off by members of the public who feared the commodities were not not being held legally by the government.
- The officer’s reports indicate the subsidized fertilizer was more likely being transported to a resale market nearby.

Officers from Sipili and Nga’arua Police Stations and led by Sub County Police Commander Kirima Sub-County have recovered one hundred and twenty (120) 50kg bags of government-subsidized fertilizer.
Acting on a tip-off from members of the public the contingent of police raided Blessed Agrovet in Sipili Township.
According to officers, the subsidized fertilizer is suspected to be destined for resale.
In addition, one motor vehicle make Isuzu Dmax which was used for transportation was impounded and detained at Sipili Police Station, while the exhibits are kept at Nga’arua Police Station.
Two suspects namely Francis Githiora, 41 and Sarah Murugi, 38 were arrested and detained at Sipili Police Station pending arraignment in Court.
Meanwhile, police in Nyagacho acting on a tip-off raided a rental house of Benard Ongoma, 47 and recovered six motorcycles make: two Kingbirds, Jialing, three TVs and one Mixer make Stereo.
The exhibits are in safe custody at the station pending identification.
The suspect has also been arrested as investigations into the matter containue.
