Renowned actress Lupita Nyong’o recently took to her Instagram to announce the end of her relationship with South African boyfriend, Selema Masekela, while alluding to issues of deception.

This revelation follows a cryptic post she shared on her Instagram account yesterday evening.

The actress first introduced Selema Masekela to her audience in December 2022 through a stylish and coordinated Instagram post.

In the post, the couple engaged in “The King’s Affirmation” challenge, showcasing their chemistry in colorful ensembles. The caption read, “We just click! 💘 @selema #thisismylove #nuffsaid,” providing a glimpse into the initial bliss of their relationship.

However, things have taken a different turn as of yesterday.

Lupita Nyong’o’s recent Instagram post hinted at a breakup, suggesting that she can no longer trust Masekela due to alleged deceit.

In the emotional post, she expressed her heartbreak and the pain of a love that had been “suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.”

Nyong’o revealed her temptation to retreat into the shadows and hide but emphasized her decision to face the pain and embrace her life as it is.

Born on August 28, 1971, Selema Masekela is the son of the legendary South African jazz musician Hugh Masekela, known for his prominent role in raising awareness about apartheid through his music.

Hugh Masekela left South Africa in 1960 and was exiled for 30 years, making significant contributions to the fight against apartheid through his musical talents.
