Dennis Kiogora, a prominent member of the Meru County Assembly representing Abogeta West, has entered a new chapter in his life with a heartwarming proposal to his partner.
Breaking away from conventional proposal venues, Kiogora chose the iconic Taj Mahal in India as the backdrop for this significant moment.
The news of the engagement spread after Kiogora shared the joyous occasion on his Facebook page, expressing his desire to make the proposal memorable and unique. Explaining his choice of location, he highlighted the global recognition of the Taj Mahal as a symbol of everlasting love.
In his post, Kiogora stated, “She said YES and gave me the best Christmas of my life! Many have been asking why we are going for a holiday in India, and this was why.” He emphasized the historic significance of the Taj Mahal, built 400 years ago by Shah Jahan as a tribute to his late wife, Muhtaza Mahal.
Kiogora, known for his role in Meru politics, took the opportunity to share his appreciation for the beauty of India, opting for less-traveled destinations. He addressed his partner, saying, “Ká Tö, with you, I found my missing rib! We will build our monument for ages.”
Notably, Kiogora made headlines last year as the first MCA to propose a motion to impeach Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza. The motion, supported by an overwhelming majority of 67 out of 69 MCAs, cited allegations of nepotism, irregular appointments, abuse of office, and gross violations of the constitution and county laws.
This romantic gesture at the Taj Mahal adds a personal touch to Kiogora’s public profile, showcasing the multifaceted aspects of his life beyond politics.
