- SDA church bans comedians performing on pulpits after a man dressed in a dress performed at an event.
- Min Jacky is seen dancing with a red dress entertaining the guests who had attended the album launch that took place on the 7th of October 2023.
- Lourine Otieno who performed at the event was banned from performing within the region.
SDA CHURCH BAN
During a press release by the Kenya Adventists MCs, the committee condemned the aspect of of wrong worship and inappropriate ways of body language and expressions towards music.
This is after following the Chunya Dwari album event whereby the MC was dressed in a red dress.
We conform to the full Sabbath observance as stated in Exodus 20:8, our members are well disciplined, experienced and staunch Adventist of good faith, therefore we distance ourselves from the incident
We don’t take responsibilities of the actions depicted on the circulated video. In addition to this, the hosting MC is not part of us nether are we airwave of him.
The Southern Kenya Lake Field Adventists further went on to withdraw the powers from the district pastors of granting choirs, solo artists and evangelistic opportunities to participate in conducting the launching of music events.
We have stopped the launching, all the powers to allow the activity will be done by the Field Executive Director (The President).
The engagement of Master of Ceremonies will be done by approval of church boards and church business respectively, who will appoint one of the elders or church officers within the local church where the worship or the celebration is taking place.
Any form of entertainment or celebrity performances on church pulpit to be refrained from with immediate effect, and pastors be in charge of all pulpits.
Solo artist by the name Lourine Otieno has been banned from singing within any Southern Kenya Lake Fields Churches.
