On the 22nd of October Sunday, the residents of Ikinu, Githunguri in Kiambu county remained startled as they witnessed a wedding ceremony featuring a Catholic Priest as the groom sharing vows with lover.
Reverend Father Edwin Gathang’i Waiguru married his long time friend, Margaret Wanjiku Githui of whom the two have been friends since year 2005.
He was also ended up being ordained as a Roman Catholic priest on the same day.
During his statement, he describes on how God is using him to bring something new into the world.
I am soo glad and grateful that God has found it worthy to use me to bring something new into the world. Many people who are were in the occasion said they have never seen such a thing that you can have a weeding and an ordination at the same time.
I thank my wife for accepting to come and be used by God to show the world that it is possible for somebody to serve God and have a family because God did not make a mistake when he created a man and a woman.
The ordination ceremony was presided over by Bishop Patrick Malau of Kirinyanga Charismatic church who said his church is solely Roman Catholic but differs only on the sacrament of marriage where priests from his church marry.
I thank God for at last making this dream come true it has been a long journey since I was baptized and joined the seminary almost 20 years ago.
The wedding was attended by hundreds of the couples family and friends.
