Tottenham Hotspurs Sacks Interim Head coach Christian Stellini

Christian Stellini has been immediately relieved of his duties together with the coaching staff

Tottenham Hotspurs has sucked interim manager Christian Stellini after four games in charge. A statement released by club chairman Daniel Levy said that Stellini and his coaching staff were immediately relieved of their duties.

Stellini took charge as interim manager after the departure of Antonio Conte last month but has been unable to change the fortunes of the club that currently sits 5th in the premier league six points behind fourth-placed manchester united having played two matches more.

Stelllini only won one of his four matches in charge losing to relegation-threatened Everton and Bournemouth before suffering a humiliating defeat to Newcastle on Sunday. Tottenham Hotspurs were desperate to turn their fortunes around with six games remaining to the end of the season. With that in mind, Stellini opted for a back four for the first time this season. Newcastle took full advantage of the situation striking the net 5 times in the first twenty-one minutes of the game. Newcastle won the match 6-1 with Harry Kane pulling one back.

Former player Mason Ryan will take over as the interim manager for the remainder of the season

Daniel Levy has appointed former Spurs player Ryan Mason to take over as the interim manager for the remaining games. It is the second time Ryan Mason is taking charge of the club has done so after the departure of Jose Mourinho. He was in charge of seven games and he won four of them before being replaced by Nuno Espiranto Sanches and eventually Antonio Conte.

Tottenham looks unlikely to finish within the top four missing out on the financial benefit that comes with qualifying for European football. Mason’s first role will be to prepare his team against Manchester United in order to try and ignite a spark in their Champions League qualification dream.

Tottenham will be in the market during the transfer window with former Bayern Munich head coach Jules Nangelsman and former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino available though they will have to draw them from Chelsea which is currently being run by caretaker Frank Lampard.
