- 18 year old rapper Trio Mio has explained why he never revealed his KCSE grades after undertaking the national examination late last year.
- He said the revelation would add no value to his career, neither would it benefit fans who had really shown determination to know the results, hence his decision to keep them private.
- The rapper further said that people should bother themselves with more important affairs, because becoming critics would easily set them up for failure.
Fast rising Kenyan rapper trio Mio has revealed that he did not disclose his KCPE results because he found no good reason to do so, given that music unlike academics, is what brought him into the limelight.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Nicholas Kioko at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after arriving from Dubai, Trio Mio who after had at first declined speaking to the youtuber, confirmed that revealing his KCPE results would arguably have added no value to him as he had decided to put more focus on his music career where the prospects seemed more promising. He wondered whether the fans interested in knowing his results would help in paying his university fees or were just squirming for the sake of criticizing him.
Rather, he said people should focus on their own endeavors and leave some other lesser important affairs like his academic results as they showed how petty and critical they were. He further added that he did not deliberately refuse to reveal his grade, but wondered whether it would be of any benefit to him or to the fans who were really determined to know.
“Mi sikukataa. Shughulika na maisha yako. kwani mnadai kunilipia fees ya uni ama? Acheni hizo mabuda mi hamkunijua juu ya academics , mlinijua juu ya music so acheni hizo”.
The artist said he was sure he would go places even without academics, as he had proof that his music career was growing and that he was quite talented. “I know am good at what am doing. Maisha ni yangu na mi sipangwingwi.
