Popular hit Geri Inegi by east lands based hip hop group Wakadinali has been pulled down from Youtube over claims by their former producer that the music wasn’t their’s originally.
By the time it was discontinued, the song had amassed over seven million views, arguably being one of the groups best selling hit.
The ex producer Victor otiono Awiti is also responsible for the pulling down of another by the group earlier this year. ‘Extra pressure,’ was also one of the groups top bangers.
On YouTube fans were met by the shock of a heartbreaking message that explained that the favorite jam was no longer available for viewing given a copyright had been made against it.
“This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Victor Otieno Owitti.”
Geri Inengi is a jam that was featured in their album Exposed and which was their 4th album to record in a studio. And with only two years after it was released the song had give beyond limits to amass over seven million views.
Wakadinali aka RONG RENDE is a Kenyan HipHop group consisting of SCAR, DOMANI and SEWER SYDAA, hailing from Eastlands. Their unique genre of Swahili and English hip-hop has seen to their metric rise in the east African music industry.
However they are yet to react on the issue given the much pressure from fans to have their beloved song back
